Is a referral required?

Yes. As Dr Berman is a specialist a referral from your general practitioner or another specialist is required in order to obtain Medicare benefits.

A new referral is almost always required at time of any treatment.

Although a referral from a general practitioner to Dr Berman lasts for one year and from another specialist for a period of three months, depending on the circumstance, it may be necessary to obtain another referral. This is not in order to see Dr Berman but to ensure that the ultrasound performed on the day will attract a Medicare benefit.

We will advise if this is required.

If you are unsure, please ask.

What should I bring to the appointment?

You should make sure you have the following when attending your appointment:

  • Medicare Card
  • Referral
  • Any previous imaging or relevant medical information.
  • Please note that payment is required on the day.

Is there parking on site?
